Montgomery County Emergency Medical Services Continuous Quality Improvement Committee will strive to improve EMS with diligent monitoring of delivered care and systems operations so that exemplary care can be honored and challenges addressed. The committee will strive to function with confidentially and sensitivity to growth and education rather than discipline. The process of CQI involves measurement of treatment, charting and tracking of trends with feedback to stakeholders for providers and managers to be more aware of patient/customer care issues. The committee values recognition of outstanding care and operations and the "building" of better caregivers rather than "tearing" them down. If trends are realized that are in need of improvement, appropriate educational remediation may be recommended to accomplish system improvements. At no time will the committee take action against a providers’ certification or services license. We will continue to make every attempt to provide "Tomorrow’s EMS Today".
Vision
The citizens, workers and visitors of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania are entitled to the very best out-of-hospital emergency medical care available in the United States. By the year 2000, the various customers of emergency medical service providers within our jurisdiction (911 callers, patients, hospital emergency departments and those who work within the EMS system) will recognize that customer service is the first priority of the Montgomery County EMS Council and its requisite EMS services. Improvements in clinical care and identification of system-wide problems will gradually occur through aggressive medical oversight of clinical activities, improved EMS provider education and comprehensive evaluation of the components of our EMS system.
